
Internet Security Industry NewsMore Consumers Feel Comfortable with Banking OnlineAugust 7, 2003 Barry Leeds & Associates reports that US consumers' confidence in online banking has grown over the past few years -- from 49% telling the research firm in 2000 that they believe Net banking transactions are safe and secure, to 70% saying the same this year. ![]() Barry Leeds surveyed 846 US consumers in June 2003 and also determined that 47% currently think that Internet banking transactions are more secure than telephone banking transactions. However, this number rises only slightly over the past two years, from 41% in 2001. ![]() Forrester Research estimates that by the end of this year, 35% of online households in the US will be banking online, rising from 27% in 2001.
