It's reported today in the blogosphere that over 412 million adult dating user accounts have reportedly been exposed in a huge data breach on the entertainment site FriendFinder Networks.

The attack included email addresses and passwords collected over the past twenty years from six adult-oriented FriendFinder websites, including Penthouse.com.

The bulk of the accounts exposed came from AdultFriendFinder.com, which the company describes as the world's largest sex and swinger community.

The hack attack is believed to have occurred last month and included data from more than fifteen million user accounts that LeakedSource believes were deleted by their users but the information was still saved on the network.

For its part, FriendFinder couldn't be reached for comment but it did confirm the site security vulnerability.

"Over the past several weeks, FriendFinder has received a number of reports regarding potential security vulnerabilities from a variety of sources," asserted Diana Ballou, FriendFinder vice president and senior counsel.

"While a number of these claims proved to be false extortion attempts, we did identify and repaired a security vulnerability that was related to the ability to access source code through a SQL injection security issue," she added.

The security attack marks the second time in less than two years that AdultFriendFinder has been hacked.

The website, which matches people for sexual encounters, was hacked in December 2015, exposing more than 3.5 million accounts.
